Suren Khachatryan

Suren Khachatryan (Armenian: Սուրեն Խաչատրյան; born August 1, 1956 in Goris[1]) is an Armenian politician and the current governor of the Syunik region of Armenia. Prior to this, he served in the Red Army and from 1996 to 1999 as the mayor of Goris. A member of Armenia's Republican Party, Khachatryan was also the deputy to the Armenian National Assembly from 1999 to 2004. He has a wife and four children[1]. Recently he has been involved in a mass scandal where he punched a female in the face.
